About us
Way Out Theatreworks™ integrates creativity and precision with talented performers to provide events with the WOW factor. With skills in theatre and entertainment, Way Out Theatreworks™ can tailor the perfect event creating fabulous memories for every client.
Way Out Theatreworks™ has evolved to become one of Australia’s premier providers of custom entertainment. Way Out Theatreworks™ is so much more than an entertainment agency. What’s makes us different is that we develop acts for special occasions, write custom scripts to support those performances, lend our professional acting skills to bring characters to life, as well as offer more than 40 “off the shelf” acts. In essence, we deliver high quality “event-ertainment” including: theming, shows & acts, roving entertainment, impersonators, interactive events, team building and more.
Way Out Theatreworks™ has gained national and international acclaim now expanding into Asia through Hong Kong. Director of Way Out Theatreworks™, Monica Gaudion-Hurford, brings her vast theatrical experience to make your event a huge success. Her experience in theatrical productions spans 20 years and has seen her work throughout Australia, Europe, America and Asia. It is this experience that now forms the foundation for Way Out Theatreworks™.
Monica Gaudion-Hurford started performing in the 80s, which led to co-leading theatrical teams to Asia. Monica studied mime and theatre in the Netherlands and London. She has written and performed a one woman show in London and at an Arts Festival in the U.K. One of Monica’s highlights was co-writing and performing a mime theatre piece in the Netherlands in front of a live audience of 24,000. She has been on TV several times including a program featuring Way Out Theatreworks’ Murder Parties by Channel 7.
Back in 1988 Monica led a mime team that performed at Expo ’88. Monica found Expo ’88 an exciting time and was proud to be a small part of an event that, as many will attest, changed the face of Brisbane.
Monica has led many drama workshops over the years. She draws upon these skills in leading corporate team building events today. In 2003 Monica successfully completed her Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
Monica started Way Out Theatreworks™ as a part-time hobby. As it turned out, a very successful hobby that has led to a thriving business. Murder Mystery Parties were the foundation of this business and as her client base increased so did the demand for other events. Expansion came, as it often does, from client requests. Today, Way Out Theatreworks™ provides a wide range of theatrical and interactive events as well as roving performances, team building, themed dinners and more.
Success
In property investment we hear ‘location, location, location’. In business I believe it is ‘persistence, persistence, persistence’. The well known quote from Calvin Coolidge that starts “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence….”. This quote has propelled me through the challenging times and has inspired me to `get out there' and do my best. What started my business off was the joy in seeing people ‘connect’. I have kept that focus throughout my business and my goal is to create events where the client is the ‘star’ and thus create memorable and positive experiences. I am proud of my achievements and business which is based on strong ethics, providing excellent customer service and outstanding entertainment.
