We are always looking for ways to communicate more effectively - be it a product launch, training & development or conference and business meetings.
People need to connect with your message and that can be hard. Listening to someone “yabba on” can be boring and uninspiring. This is where corporate communications comes to the rescue! Simply, it transforms your message into a story thus creating emotional connections that inspire your audience.
Way Out Theatreworks™ can provide you with Purpose Built Communications - a custom made performance or an ‘off the shelf’ pre-written performance that will best suit your needs.
Purpose Built Communications - what is it?
Rather than a regurgitated piece of entertainment, it tells a “story”. It is a tailor written, one-off script penned by a professional writer, developed and rehearsed with a theatre director and stage actors ready to perform for your event.
It’s more than just fun entertainment. Much more! We live in an age of the ‘experience’ – most popular with Generation Y. PBC allows the audience to ‘experience’ the message. It’s a tool to communicate and support your very important core message in an innovative way.

Purpose Built Communications – it’s history
Bringing a new service to the market is always a challenge, we managed to do this with much success, here is the story. This new service grew out of a need thus Purpose Built Communications (PBC) was conceived, though it had no ‘title’ at that time. A client was referred to us to do a product launch for software that helps mining engineers with their short term dilemmas. The client wanted us to put something together to promote this product. This was a fabulous opportunity to draw upon our theatrical resources. I approached those in my team with skills in script writing, creative concepts and theatrical direction. We consulted with the client regarding this software package and what it can achieve, we researched the audience (mining engineers) and the specific challenges engineers face, and then wrote an informative, comical and melodramatic piece of theatre for the product launch. The client filmed the performance and played it at the separate software launches they hosted all around the world. This positive challenge provided WOT with a new direction and a unique service.
“We were very impressed by your level of professionalism and, of course, by the creative writing which allowed us to provide an experience that our guests will not forget. Your team was very easy to work with and Pete (Runge employee) enjoyed the opportunity to participate.”

This was followed by successful performance piece for a national café chain focusing on their “staff training”.
“Thank you for putting together our ‘Opening Act’ for our roadshow event. We found the opening act a very unique way to set the scene for the workshops. The script was also strategically
put together to get the ‘WOW Customer Service’ message across. The actors were great and hit the nail on the head. I look forward to working with you again.”

Following these productions we began to understand this was an innovative and powerful service. Thus we ‘launched’ Purpose Built Communications at the Meetings & Events Australia National Conference 2006. This performance was voted a highlight of the conference. A great accolade from my peers!
Since then we have written various performances. The most recent and certainly most prestigious was being commissioned by the Office of the Lord Mayor to provide all the entertainment including the grand opening of the Asia Pacific Cities Summit 2007. The Opening featured a cast of over 50 local actors, dancers and performers. ‘Welcome to Brisbane” was a feast to the eye and ear. Supported by state of the art Multimedia and a high-energy soundtrack, this show takes a look at what makes Brisbane the amazing and diverse place it is today. After the performance the Lord Mayor came backstage to personally thank me and my team.
“On behalf of the city of Brisbane, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to you and the WOT team. The hard work, effort and flexibility of your staff ensured delegates had an enjoyable time and made their trip to Brisbane more memorable. The ‘Welcome to Brisbane’ presentation helped make the 2007 Asia and Pacific Cities Summit a great success”
